Ceren Yılmaz

 Ceren Yılmaz is an interdisciplinary artist and designer working across objects, surfaces, and space.

Her practice focuses on transforming the relationships she establishes with materials. She works in various fields including set and object design for stage productions, installations, and embroidery.

Direct contact with materials forms the foundation of her practice. By bringing together different images, she reconstructs the familiar — sometimes through disruption, sometimes through repair and transformation.

Her background in industrial design shapes the relationship she builds between function and narrative. She approaches stage and set design as a playground where production standards can be stretched, allowing her to move freely between scale and form.

She uses embroidery not as a craft, but as a tool for thinking and expression. By moving embroidery beyond conventional surfaces, she combines it with rigid and unexpected materials.

The works she develops under the name Holygiggle constitute an intuitive and experimental extension of this approach.

Her works evolve around personal memory, the body, and everyday objects, taking shape through the relationships she establishes with social roles and forms of representation.
